Dimensions/displacement/sail area per boat-specs.com; 243 hulls built 1988-1999. Displacement figure used is the lighter 'as designed' figure (12,500 kg / 27,558 lb); a loaded/cruising displacement of ~35,840 lb is also commonly quoted. Ketch rig (Marconi, in-mast furling main); sail_area_total_sqft sums main+genoa+mizzen (377+700+205 sq ft, rounded) consistent with sailboatdata's convention of including the mizzen for ketch/yawl rigs -- jib_sqft field holds the genoa (100% working headsail) figure rather than a smaller jib. Hull/deck GRP glass-reinforced polyester, per boat-specs.com. L-shaped lead-bulb keel. Mast aluminum, standard. Verified 2026-07-09. [Rudder/tankage/electrical update, 2026-07-16]: Protected skeg-hung rudder (construction material not independently confirmed). Fuel 158gal, water 264gal -- generous tankage typical of Amel's long-passage cruising-system philosophy. No holding-tank or electrical-system data found.
